ClickLeak is built so that it physically cannot see your Search Console data. Here's exactly how that works, in plain terms.
The short version: the free ClickLeak scan runs entirely inside your web browser. The CSV you choose is read on your own computer to produce the audit. It is never uploaded to a server, never stored, never logged, and never sent to us or anyone else.
When you pick a Search Console export and run the audit, your browser reads that file locally and does all of the analysis on your own machine using JavaScript that's already loaded on the page. The results you see are generated right there in the browser. Nothing about your file, your pages, your queries, or your traffic is transmitted anywhere.
Because of this, we have no copy of your data and no way to retrieve it. If you close the tab, the analysis is gone. Run it again anytime by choosing the file again.
If you join the waitlist, you're voluntarily giving us your email address so we can tell you when the paid monitoring version is ready. That email is handled by our email provider and is used only to contact you about ClickLeak. You can ask us to remove it at any time. Joining the waitlist is entirely optional and is separate from running a scan.
Like most websites, we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they land on, in aggregate. This never includes the contents of your Search Console file, which as described above never reaches us.
The current free tool works from a file you export yourself. A future paid version will offer an option to connect your Google Search Console account directly for ongoing monitoring. That connection will be read-only, will request the minimum access needed, will be something you can revoke at any time, and will be covered by an updated version of this policy before it launches. Nothing about the current free scan involves connecting your Google account.
If we add features that change how data is handled, such as the direct Search Console connection above, we'll update this page and note the date at the top before those features go live.
